Overview

As an Application Engineer at Trelleborg, you will provide technical support and expertise to customers in the aerospace industry, focusing on innovative polymer solutions. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure customer satisfaction and requires a strong engineering background and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with customers to understand their intermediate technical needs and provide solutions
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for customers
  • Complete intermediate preliminary design reviews for new business opportunities
  • Complete intermediate critical design reviews for new product development
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation (models, drawings, and procedures)
  • Support the sales team by providing technical information and product demonstrations
  • Process engineering change requests internally and externally
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction (e.g., R&D, manufacturing, sales)
  • Engineering approver for engineering documentation reviews
  • Partner with 3rd party suppliers as needed to support product gaps

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical discipline
  • 3 years of experience in an engineering role, preferably in a customer-facing role with a Master's degree counting as 2 years of experience
  • 2 years’ experience with CAD and engineering software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, or NX)
  • 2 years’ experience in product design, including experience with complex surfaces, assemblies, and kinematics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
