Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mold Maker to manufacture, assemble, repair, modify, and maintain precision injection molds used in medical device component manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with high-precision injection molds, machining operations, mold fitting, and troubleshooting dimensional or functional issues.

Responsibilities

  • Build, assemble, repair, and maintain precision plastic injection molds.
  • Perform mold modifications, component replacement, and corrective maintenance.
  • Operate CNC milling machines, surface grinders, EDM machines, and conventional toolroom equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and mold design specifications.
  • Perform precision fitting, polishing, grinding, and alignment of mold components.
  • Diagnose mold defects involving flash, parting lines, wear, gate issues, and dimensional variation.
  • Work with Tooling Engineers and Process Engineers to resolve molding defects.
  • Perform mold preventative maintenance and document completed activities.
  • Use precision measurement tools to verify mold dimensions and tolerances.
  • Support mold qualification, sample production, and engineering change implementation.

Requirements

  • Technical diploma, apprenticeship, or equivalent training in Tool and Die Making, Mold Making, or Precision Machining.
  • 5+ years of injection mold building and repair experience.
  • Strong experience with precision plastic injection molds.
  • Proficiency with CNC machining, EDM, grinding, and toolroom equipment.
  • Ability to read mold designs, technical drawings, and GD&T.
  • Experience with medical device plastic components preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of mold materials, surface finishes, tolerances, and mold maintenance.
