Job Description

Overview

IMEG is hiring a Structural Engineering New Grad in Los Angeles, CA. This entry-level role offers hands-on design, analysis, and project execution experience, with mentorship, training, and opportunities to grow your expertise from day one.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in analyzing and designing structural systems using various building materials.
  • Use engineering software and tools to develop detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards.
  • Interact with clients to gather project requirements and communicate technical information effectively.
  • Support project execution by assisting with planning and scheduling to meet deadlines and objectives.
  • Document design decisions and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
  • Analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and collaborate with senior engineers to develop solutions.
  • Participate in quality control processes to ensure designs meet standards and client requirements.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and contribute to research and innovation efforts.
  • Prioritize safety in all engineering work and conduct oneself professionally.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout the project life cycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of design techniques and standards for structural systems.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills in structural mechanics and materials.
  • Familiarity with industry standard engineering software and tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
  • Basic knowledge in the use of BIM software.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
