We are looking for a diligent individual to join our team as a Structural Steel Welder/Fabricator. The successful candidate will fabricate and assemble a variety of Structural Steel and Misc. Steel parts while ensuring safety regulations are met.
At roughly $30/hr, this posting sits about 15% above the $26/hr median for welding jobs across Wisconsin — toward the top of a $23–$30/hr middle band drawn from 114 postings with published pay. Put another way, it pays more than about 75% of the comparable postings we have wage data for. Pay that far above local median usually comes attached to something: a harder cert requirement, travel, night shift, or overtime that isn't really optional. Worth establishing which before you accept.
This is the only active welding job we're currently tracking in Osceola, WI, which makes it worth moving on quickly — there is no local competing offer to weigh it against. Across Wisconsin as a whole we're tracking 176 other active welding openings from 116 employers. Browse welding jobs across Wisconsin.
The most active employers in Wisconsin at the moment, by number of open welding reqs, are QPS Employment Group (17), Gpac (7), and API Heat Transfer (4). Volume like that usually means either a genuine expansion or a staffing agency working several client sites — worth knowing which before you apply.
Within Wisconsin, the best-paying metros we track by median hourly rate are Marinette at $32/hr, Manitowoc at $30/hr, and Neenah at $23/hr. If you can relocate or commute, that spread is worth factoring in.
This posting calls for MIG and Flux-Core work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. It lays down metal fast and is forgiving on clean material, which is why it dominates production and light fabrication work. Flux-cored (FCAW) runs a hollow wire filled with flux, combining MIG-like deposition rates with the outdoor tolerance of stick. It is the workhorse on heavy structural steel and shipbuilding, where thick sections and long welds reward speed.
