Overview

The Master Maintenance Specialist at LANXESS ensures the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment through preventive maintenance and repair tasks. LANXESS is a leading specialty chemicals company committed to sustainability, employing around 12,000 people across 32 countries.

Responsibilities

• Complete preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
• Observe all Company Safety Rules and Policies.
• Maintain necessary paperwork including work orders, inspections, and P.M. sheets.
• Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
• Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using measuring instruments.
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools.
• Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Attend educational workshops and participate in daily Tool Box discussions to maintain technical and safety knowledge.
• Comply with procedures, rules, and regulations to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
• Lay out and complete assigned work independently.
• Supervise other mechanics in the absence of a supervisor.
• Weld carbon steel, stainless, and aluminum pipe in various environments.
• Enter Confined Space to perform necessary repairs using welding skills.
• Use Oxyacetylene Welding & Cutting.
• Climb ladders approximately 40 feet high.
• Wear company supplied respirator as required.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 7 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a chemical or manufacturing environment.
• Experience mentoring or leading other maintenance mechanics is a plus.
