Overview

The Master Maintenance Specialist ensures the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment through preventive maintenance and repairs. This role involves supervising other mechanics, maintaining safety protocols, and working with various tools and equipment in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Complete preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
  • Observe all Company Safety Rules and Policies.
  • Maintain necessary paperwork such as work orders and inspections.
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
  • Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using measuring instruments.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools.
  • Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Attend educational workshops and participate in daily Tool Box discussions to maintain technical and safety knowledge.
  • Comply with procedures, rules, and regulations to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Lay out and complete assigned work independently.
  • Supervise other mechanics in the absence of a supervisor.
  • Weld carbon steel, stainless, and aluminum pipe both on the bench and in the field.
  • Enter Confined Space to perform necessary repairs, including welding.
  • Use Oxyacetylene Welding & Cutting.
  • Climb ladders up to approximately 40 feet high.
  • Wear company supplied respirator as required.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a chemical or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience mentoring or leading other maintenance mechanics is a plus.
