Overview

Austin Industrial is a leading provider of maintenance, construction, and soft craft services to industrial companies across the U.S. The Pipefitter Fabricator will be responsible for laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems and related equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using tools such as saws, cutting torches, and pipe threaders and benders.
  • Attach pipes to walls, structures, and fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools, or welding equipment.
  • Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
  • Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
  • Select pipe sizes and types and related materials according to specifications.
  • Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, fittings, and related machines and equipment.
  • Install automatic controls used to regulate pipe systems.
  • Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids from pipe sections.
  • Remove and replace worn components.
  • Inspect work sites for obstructions and ensure structural integrity.
  • Operate motorized pumps to remove water from flooded areas.
  • Dip nonferrous piping materials in a mixture of molten tin and lead for coating.

Requirements

  • No minimum education requirements.
  • NCCER certification required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience.

  • Position located in La Porte, TX.
  • Employees must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds and working in confined spaces.
