Overview

The Pipefitter Fabricator position at Austin Industrial involves laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems and related equipment for various industrial applications. Responsibilities

  • Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using various tools.
  • Attach pipes to walls, structures, and fixtures using brackets, clamps, or welding equipment.
  • Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
  • Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
  • Select pipe sizes and types along with related materials according to specifications.
  • Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems and related equipment using hand and power tools.
  • Install automatic controls to regulate pipe systems.
  • Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids from pipe sections.
  • Remove and replace worn components.
  • Inspect work sites for obstructions and structural integrity.
  • Operate motorized pumps to remove water from flooded areas.
  • Dip nonferrous piping materials in a protective coating mixture.

Requirements

  • No minimum education requirements.
  • 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience.
