Overview

Service Fabricators, LLC is seeking an experienced Structural Fitter to join our fabrication team in Mamou, Louisiana. Our shop fabricates structural steel skids and assemblies for offshore, industrial, and similar projects.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret structural fabrication drawings, blueprints, and shop drawings.
  • Fit and assemble structural steel components for skids and other industrial fabrication projects.
  • Measure, lay out, align, square, and position steel members according to drawings and specifications.
  • Use tape measures, squares, levels, and other measuring and fitting tools to ensure dimensional accuracy.
  • Identify and correct fit-up issues before welding.
  • Work with welders and other fabrication personnel to ensure assemblies meet project requirements.
  • Follow shop safety procedures and maintain an organized work area.
  • Meet quality standards, production schedules, and project specifications.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience as a structural steel fitter in a fabrication shop.
  • Ability to independently read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints.
  • Proven ability to lay out, measure, align, and fit structural steel assemblies.
  • Experience fitting beams, channels, angles, plates, and other structural steel components.
  • Ability to use common fitting tools and accurately verify dimensions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and workplace safety.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work as part of a production team.
  • Familiarity with structural steel fit-up requirements and fabrication tolerances.
  • Experience fitting skids, offshore structures, or industrial steel assemblies is strongly preferred.
