Job Description

Overview

Silpac located in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Technician II specializing in orbital welding. This full-time position requires efficient and accurate manufacturing of quality products with a focus on safety and timeliness.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of purge techniques and ability to adjust to different materials, thicknesses, and sizes.
  • Experience in sight pipe and determining acceptable and unacceptable welds (I.D. and O.D.).
  • Ability to straighten within tolerance on print or acceptance by QA.
  • Maintenance of 9-500 weld head including disassembly, reassembly, and component replacement.
  • Ability to operate and calibrate AMI weld heads: 9-250, 9-500, 1500.
  • Read and understand standard blueprints, weld symbols, and BOMs.
  • Ability to engineer a print for cutting dimensions.
  • Accuracy on caliper and height gauge, reading within .001 tolerances.
  • Tube cutting, deburring, and operating cold saws, band saws, drill presses, tri-tools, counter bores, and buffing wheels to Silpac standards.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in welding fabrication or a minimum of 2 years on-the-job training.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment specializing in gas delivery systems.
  • Ability to work on AMI Orbital machine, knowing functions and capabilities on the keypad.
  • Experience in tacking within orbital weld parameters.

Additional Information

  • Full-time position, Monday to Friday with overtime as needed.
  • Typical hours are 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.
  • Salary will be based on experience.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
