Overview

The ASR Group® is the world’s largest refiner and marketer of cane sugar, producing a full line of sweetener products. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various equipment to support safe and efficient plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, corrective, and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-controlled systems.
• Observe equipment in operation and adjust components to improve performance.
• Repair or replace worn, damaged, or defective components.
• Optimize the performance of various packaging and processing equipment.
• Collaborate with operators to improve line performance and minimize downtime.
• Assist with equipment startups, changeovers, and commissioning.
• Identify recurring issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Set up and operate shop tools to fabricate or repair parts.
• Install components for equipment upgrades or modifications.
• Perform all work in accordance with safety rules and food safety requirements.
• Ensure food safety and product quality during maintenance activities.
• Report unsafe conditions or equipment risks to management.
• Complete all required maintenance documentation accurately and timely.
• Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant operations.

Requirements

• 3-5 years industrial maintenance experience required, preferably in manufacturing.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
• Associate's degree or equivalent preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience maintaining complex industrial equipment.
• Working knowledge of packaging machinery, automated systems, and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot across mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Commitment to safety, food quality, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work effectively with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.

Additional Information

• Regular hours are M-F 6 a.m. - 2 p.m.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
• Location: Calumet, IL.
