Overview

DNV is seeking a Welding Engineer/Inspector to provide support for PED services, focusing on the review and approval of welding processes and personnel. This remote position allows for independent assessment and verification of compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Independently assess and verify welding procedures and qualifications.
  • Support compliance verification activities by identifying nonconformities.
  • Witness onsite testing of weld processes and procedures.
  • Review documentation and lab reports for compliance with standards.
  • Prepare Welding Procedure Qualification Records and Welder Test Certificates.
  • Communicate technical issues with the Notified Body for approval.
  • Act as the primary client interface for welding inquiries and quotes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Active AWS CWI (Certified Welding Inspector).
  • At least 3 years of experience with AWS, ASME IX or similar.
  • At least 3 years of experience with NDE/NDT methods.
  • Strong understanding of metallurgy, heat treatment, and welding processes.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% domestically and 10% internationally.
  • Adequate near and far visual acuity for inspections.

  • This position can be remote from anywhere in the Continental U.S.A.
