Overview
The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment in a production environment. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing issues, and performing preventative maintenance while adhering to safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Observe mechanical devices in operation and troubleshoot problems.
- Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, hand tools, and power tools.
- Inspect used parts to determine changes on dimensional requirements using measuring instruments.
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand and/or power tools.
- Repair or replace defective parts.
- Advise the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager of any operational problems.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Comply with all safety, health, environmental, and other company policies.
- Perform preventative plant maintenance.
- Conduct general plant maintenance inspection, diagnosis, and repairs.
- Weld and cut as needed.
- Maintain, repair, and clean MRF Equipment.
- Maintain, repair, and clean exhaust fans.
Requirements
- 1 year of experience in maintenance and repair in a production environment.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Fabrication knowledge including Mig/Tig/Arc/Oxy Acetylene/brazing.
- Sufficient working knowledge regarding plant component repairs and replacements.
- Ability to effectively troubleshoot and identify electrical/mechanical issues.
- Perform all tasks safely in accordance with applicable OSHA rules and regulations.
- Consistently behave in a professional manner.
- Valid Class C Driver's License.
- Acceptable Driver's Record.
- Must possess personal tools and have own tool box.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
