Overview

Komatsu is seeking a Welder for the 2nd shift in Peoria, Illinois. The role involves performing various welding techniques to fabricate chassis for electric mining trucks while ensuring quality and safety in fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all phases of chassis fabrication for mining trucks.
  • Fabricate sub-components and setup frames for welding.
  • Perform cleanup of welding passes.
  • Correct welding flaws identified by inspections.
  • Use cranes to move plate steel and components for welding setup.
  • Utilize information systems as necessary for job duties.
  • Work closely with the Engineering Department.
  • Read and interpret engineering prints and procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Ensure quality and safety of own work using appropriate protective equipment.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of welding experience.
  • Proficiency in GMAW, GMAW-P, and Sub Arc Welding.
  • Ability to weld in all positions and run multiple pass welds.
  • Skill to read and interpret weld drawings and symbols.
  • Ability to safely use carbon arc gouging, acetylene torch, grinders, and general manufacturing tools.
  • General math skills and ability to read a tape measure.
  • Must pass appropriate welding test.
  • Complete a physical commensurate with DOL Medium duty work requirements, including drug testing.
