Overview

Join the Badger team as a Locator, where you'll conduct utility and sewer locates to research and inspect data regarding excavation on various construction projects. This role is ideal for detail-oriented and safety-conscious individuals who are enthusiastic about essential infrastructure work.

Responsibilities

  • Operate various electronic devices to assist locating and verifying underground utilities including gas, phone, and fiber optic cables.
  • Perform various reports and documentation verifying marked utilities.
  • Prepare GPS data on located utilities and related above ground features.
  • Identify and mark utility lines using spray paint or colored flags.
  • Attend safety meetings.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Preferred experience with locating utilities (3-5 years).
  • Ability to distinguish colors for marked utilities.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50%.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull 30+ pounds.

Additional Information

  • Candidates must undergo a physical examination and complete pre-employment screenings such as driver’s abstract review and drug and alcohol test.
  • This position is in a region that is covered under a collective bargaining agreement; the successful applicant may be required to join the union as a condition of employment.
