Overview

DXP is seeking a skilled Multi-stage Vertical/Horizontal Pump Mechanic to repair, fabricate, troubleshoot, and rebuild a wide range of rotating equipment, including various types of pumps and related equipment. Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and pump documentation
• Use micrometers, dial indicators, and precision measuring tools
• Safely operate mechanics’ hand tools, presses, torches, and pullers
• Perform pump and motor alignments
• Rebuild and install mechanical seals
• Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair vertical pumps, horizontal pumps, and other rotating equipment
• Complete clear, concise inspection and repair reports

Requirements

• Strong working knowledge of fits, clearances, and pump tolerances
• Proficient with micrometers and other precision measuring instruments
• Solid math skills for measurements and calculations
• Ability to produce accurate inspection documentation
• Experience working on vertical turbine pumps required
• High school diploma required
