Overview

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain mechanical piping systems, ensuring proper routing and secure connections.
  • Perform tasks such as cutting, threading, joining, and bending pipes using various techniques.
  • Read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and P&IDs.
  • Conduct pressure testing, leak testing, and system inspections.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical piping issues during installation and operation.
  • Assist with material handling, equipment setup, and cleanup tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of piping installations, repairs, and inspections.
  • Collaborate with other trades and project stakeholders.
  • Participate in on-the-job training and classroom instruction.
  • Depending on experience, may lead and supervise teams and manage schedules.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Specific experience in mechanical piping installation and maintenance preferred.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to mechanical piping systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and P&IDs.
  • Familiarity with pipe joining techniques is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of HVAC or utility piping standards is a plus.
  • Ability to follow safety and cleanliness protocols.
  • Willingness to support international projects.
  • Strong communication, listening, and teamwork skills.
  • Capable of lifting materials and working on ladders/lifts.
