Overview
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering is seeking a highly experienced Structural Engineer for their Temporary Works Group. The role involves innovative design engineering to support construction processes, ensuring safety and efficiency in various temporary structures and construction methods.
Responsibilities
- Develop drawings and calculations for temporary works and construction methods.
- Create heavy lift plans including site logistics and equipment selection.
- Evaluate existing structures for construction loads and demolition planning.
- Conduct structural analysis for stability during temporary conditions.
- Support excavation systems or cofferdams for below-grade construction.
- Design temporary bridges, trestles, and work platforms.
- Perform and review calculations and design drawings according to industry standards.
- Ensure quality and accuracy of design deliverables.
- Identify design risks and assist with risk mitigation planning.
- Assist in project management including budgets, schedules, and client communication.
- Provide on-site design engineering support and inspections.
- Train and mentor E.I.T.s.
Requirements
- Experience with temporary structures and construction engineering.
- Accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
- 15+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Professional Engineer licensure or eligibility in the United States.
- Strong academic knowledge of structural engineering.
- Experience with engineering design software such as AutoCAD and RISA-3D.
- Ability to work in a team setting.
- Excellent communication skills with all organizational levels.
- Strong interpersonal skills in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Ability to organize and handle multiple project assignments.
- Willingness to travel and relocate based on business needs.
- Ability to access all points of a construction site in various climates.
