As part of Magna International, Magna Energy Storage Systems Group develops and manufactures innovative fuel tank systems and components for heavy-duty trucks and passenger cars, specializing in plug-in hybrids.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-line inspection.
- Perform leak testing.
- Document repair welds.
- Utilize camera-offset techniques.
- Engage in riveting tasks.
- Operate machines or use manual methods safely to meet production goals.
- Assess welds for cleanliness and compliance with customer specifications.
- Repair robot welds as needed.
- Conduct tests to evaluate weld quality.
- Collaborate with engineering to address issues.
- Train other employees as needed.
Requirements
- Graduation from related trade school or high school diploma or GED.
- 1-3 years of related experience or a combination of education and experience.
- 1-3 years of experience TIG welding, with strong preference for aluminum.
- Knowledge and ability to assess metal structures for repair of damaged welds.
- Ability to measure close tolerances in both Metric and Imperial.
- Knowledge and ability to use small tools, operate air/hand tools, welders, grinders, and buffing machines.
