Overview

The Welder position involves using hand welding and flame cutting equipment to weld metal components under general supervision. The role requires assisting with cutting and welding operations for various repair and fabrication work.

Responsibilities

  • Works from sketches, prints, operation sheets, preliminary drawings, and written/verbal instructions.
  • Maintains welding specifications.
  • Sets up and operates all welding equipment.
  • May utilize different types of welding systems for different tasks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a technical degree and one (1) to four (4) years of related experience or an equivalent combination.
  • Knowledge of Chemistry and Metallurgy.
  • Understanding of Electricity.
  • Knowledge of basic computer programming.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
