The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic position at Saint-Gobain involves ensuring the efficient operation of machinery through maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, while adhering to safety and environmental guidelines. Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Inspect machines for wear and defects, replace defective parts, and make mechanical/electrical adjustments.
  • Troubleshoot and perform emergency repairs.
  • Update, modify, and/or change equipment as assigned by management.
  • Maintain detailed Preventative Maintenance records.
  • Follow proper procedure for replacement parts from inventory.
  • Perform general repairs around the plant as needed.
  • Explain proper use and operation of maintenance equipment to workers.
  • Work from blueprints and schematics using test and precision measuring equipment.
  • Collaborate with service technicians to install and maintain automated equipment.
  • Complete work orders and enter labor time in a timely manner.
  • Use proper Lock Out Tag Out and Try Out procedures.
  • Perform process equipment Preventive Maintenance.
  • Cut and weld using oxygen and acetylene, with experience in stick and MIG welding.
  • Train new and existing employees on equipment maintenance processes.
  • Learn operational functions of equipment to troubleshoot effectively.
  • Maintain 5S and cleanliness of work area and equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of industrial mechanic experience.
  • Understand Arc Flash Safety and its associated theory.
  • Mechanical repair and troubleshooting skills, plus electrical repair helper experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents related to process operations.
  • Utilize math in fractions, decimals, and know the metric measuring system.
  • Basic tool knowledge and usage based on job classification.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use a CMMS system.
  • Active Powered Industrial Trucks Certification.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment including forklifts and lifts.
  • Proficient in using powered hand tools, precision tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • MIG Welding experience is required; TIG Welding experience is preferred.

What you'll be running
