The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic position at Saint-Gobain involves ensuring plant safety, performing mechanical and electrical repairs, and maintaining equipment to prevent downtime. Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Inspect machines for wear and defects, replacing defective parts.
  • Troubleshoot and perform emergency repairs.
  • Update and modify equipment as assigned by management.
  • Maintain detailed Preventative Maintenance records.
  • Follow proper procedure for replacement parts from inventory.
  • Perform general repairs around the plant as assigned.
  • Explain proper use and operation of maintenance equipment to workers.
  • Work from blueprints and schematics using various tools.
  • Collaborate with service technicians to install and maintain automated equipment.
  • Complete work orders and enter labor time in a timely manner.
  • Use Lock Out Tag Out and Try Out procedures for equipment safety.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance on process equipment.
  • Cut and weld using various welding techniques.
  • Train new and existing employees on maintenance processes.
  • Learn operational functions of equipment to troubleshoot effectively.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of industrial mechanic experience.
  • Understanding of Arc Flash Safety.
  • Mechanical and electrical repair skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents related to processes.
  • Basic math skills including fractions and decimals.
  • Basic tool knowledge and usage.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with CMMS systems.
