Overview

The Solar Pile is seeking an experienced mechanic with a strong knowledge of mechanical principles and maintenance practices. The position offers a starting pay of $38.23 per hour, a $1,000 sign-on bonus, and benefits starting on day one.

Responsibilities

  • Install, adjust, repair, and perform assigned maintenance duties from drawings, sketches, and manuals.
  • Assemble structural forms and machinery frames according to blueprints.
  • Troubleshoot and service pumps, gear boxes, motors, cranes, and hydraulic systems.
  • Inspect plant operating machines and equipment for preventative maintenance.
  • Perform routine equipment care on shop machinery and mobile equipment.
  • Tear down, replace, repair, install, and assemble equipment parts.
  • Cut, bend, and thread conduit, pipe, and tubing.
  • Maintain records of work performed and material usage.
  • Operate mobile equipment to lift and transport materials.
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance on vehicles and mobile equipment.
  • Follow all PPE requirements and safety guidelines.
  • Assist in training coworkers as needed.
  • Maintain communication with coworkers through two-way radio and hand signals.
  • Work as part of a self-directed team with limited supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment.
  • Engage in GBS tools and methodology.
  • Assist maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • AAS in industrial maintenance and maintenance reliability certifications are preferred.
  • Verifiable maintenance technical training.
  • Understanding of shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments.
  • 4 to 6 years of heavy industrial mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of AC/DC motors, gear box mechanics, lubrication principles, and welding.
  • Intermediate knowledge of pumps, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and operate mobile equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in extreme temperatures.
