Overview

The Solar Pile is seeking an experienced Electrician to install, troubleshoot, and maintain complex electrical systems in support of steel production operations. This mid-level maintenance technician role offers a starting pay of $41.39 per hour and a $1,000 sign-on bonus, along with benefits beginning on day one.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic controls and systems.
  • Perform rounds and check machinery to identify abnormalities.
  • Troubleshoot AC/DC motor controls, PLC, and high-voltage systems.
  • Inspect and perform daily maintenance on shop machinery and mobile equipment.
  • Service electrical aspects of pumps, motors, cranes, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
  • Lay out, install, and maintain electronically-controlled equipment.
  • Balance loads and wire complex circuits.
  • Work with diagnostic equipment including digital voltmeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Maintain records of work performed and materials used.
  • Interpret schematics and blueprints at an intermediate to advanced level.
  • Provide training and guidance to less experienced personnel.
  • Provide technical assistance to maintenance and production personnel.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Verifiable maintenance technical training.
  • 4 to 6 years of heavy industrial electrical maintenance experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of AC/DC motor theory and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of electrical controls and high voltage power systems.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of HVAC controls and electrical schematics.
  • AAS in industrial maintenance and maintenance reliability certifications are preferred.
