Overview
Linde Engineering North America LLC is seeking a QA-QC Engineer to oversee the procurement process of piping, equipment, and package units, ensuring supplier compliance with project and code requirements. The role involves project monitoring, cost control, and managing quality issues while collaborating with various engineering and project management departments.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and support the procurement process of piping, equipment, and package units.
- Prepare and provide project monitoring, cost control, and reporting for the QA/QC discipline.
- Review vendor welding, testing, and NDE procedures.
- Develop, review, and update quality assurance documentation in cooperation with engineering and project management.
- Respond to and manage quality issues identified by vendors, customers, and company personnel.
- Communicate lessons learned of QA/QC non-conformities to Engineering.
- Interpret code issues for design, fabrication, inspection, and testing.
- Collaborate with the Materials Technology and Codes Engineer on material changes.
- Lead the supplier inspection process and develop Project Inspection Plans.
- Provide technical support during inspection visits of purchased equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical or Welding Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of ten years of experience in Petrochemicals / Industrial Gases in QA/QC application.
- Extensive knowledge of design, fabrication, inspection, and testing of international Codes and Standards.
- Knowledge of NDE/NDT, and QA/QC process standards and techniques.
- Knowledge of welding and metallurgy; AWS CWI endorsement is preferred.
- Current or previous certification in NDE level II and/or API certifications.
- Working knowledge of fabrication, construction, and assembly of plant components.
- Cost responsibility and basic knowledge about bid verification.
