Overview
The Mechanic at Rayburn Electric Cooperative, Inc. ensures the reliable operation of the vehicle and mechanical equipment program through maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics, emphasizing technical skill and safety.
Responsibilities
- Manages multiple priorities and works effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Develops and implements maintenance and repair strategies for vehicle and mechanical equipment.
- Conducts thorough inspections of vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
- Maintains accurate records of all vehicles and equipment, including inspection reports and maintenance activities.
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
- Utilizes diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical problems.
- Works independently and collaborates with team members to prioritize tasks.
- Adheres to safety culture by conducting Job Hazard Analysis and addressing safety concerns.
- Understands and complies with established standards and procedures.
- Drives Rayburn vehicle to various sites, potentially exposing to live electrical hazards.
- Subject to on-call duties after normal business hours as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.) required.
- Certification from a recognized vocational school or trade school required.
- ASE certifications are preferred.
- 3+ years of experience with diesel and gas engine systems, hydraulic systems, and heavy equipment maintenance.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose complex problems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class A CDL driver’s license.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
