Overview

RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, is seeking a Welder/Brazer 2 for onsite work in Clayville, NY. The role involves performing various welding operations and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the company.

Responsibilities

• Perform hand and machine fusion welding operations to construct powder containers.
• Conduct routine maintenance on equipment to optimize uptime.
• Prepare parts for fabrication by grinding, polishing, and cleaning.
• Fabricate stainless steel extrusion cans.
• Seal and prepare cans for shipment.
• Comply with company rules and regulations.
• Support department objectives and develop skills through various tasks.
• Participate in continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
• Utilize basic computer skills for general tasks.
• Apply shop mathematics involving decimals and fractions.
• Demonstrate knowledge of fusion welding processes.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Problem-solve minor fabrication and equipment issues.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year relevant experience.
• Strong attendance record.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work hours outside of the regular shift.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to wear a respirator.
• Physical ability to ascend and descend stairs, stand for extended periods, bend, squat, twist, reach overhead, and lift up to 25 pounds.

Additional Information

• Work schedule is Monday - Thursday (4x10) from 2:00pm to 12:00am.
• Position is onsite, requiring commuting to the assigned site.
