Overview
Komatsu is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to support open-pit mining operations, focusing on electric mining shovels and large gear case components. This role involves extensive travel and hands-on work in the field, making it ideal for technicians with experience in mining or construction equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform field service maintenance and repairs on electric mining shovels in open-pit mine environments.
- Change and rebuild major shovel components, including large gear cases.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot complex equipment systems.
- Work closely with mine site teams to ensure equipment uptime and safe operation.
- Travel extensively to mine sites across AZ, NM, and CA.
- Work hours are typically 12 hours daily on a 6-day-on schedule.
- Focus on maintaining a safe work environment and employing safe work practices.
- Lay out and perform complex repairs with high accuracy and quality.
- Assess equipment repair needs and develop repair processes.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and perform minor and major repairs to all assigned equipment.
Requirements
- 2+ years’ experience in the maintenance of mining or construction equipment such as shovels, drills, or loaders.
- Print understanding to ensure all repairs are completed to OEM specification.
- Willing to travel 100% to meet business requirements.
- Clean driving record.
Additional Information
- This job requires extensive travel, working 6 days a week in AZ, NM, or CA for 10 - 14 hour days.
