Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic Welder is responsible for directing maintenance crews in the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of equipment throughout the plant, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct machine setup and perform repairs/preventative maintenance on plant equipment.
  • Ensure team adheres to safety and quality expectations.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance repairs of plant equipment.
  • Prepare and set up machinery for scheduled production runs.
  • Perform mechanical skills including troubleshooting and repair of machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and work orders.
  • Weld small and large components such as plumbing and pipelines.
  • Provide emergency repairs of process equipment during production.
  • Install replacement parts including belts, filters, and valves.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems.
  • Weld machine components using appropriate equipment or methods.
  • Perform repairs involving machine guarding and breakdowns.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as lubricating parts.
  • Handle installations including hooking up air, water, and gas.
  • Comply with safety standards and use protective clothing.
  • Complete work orders, records, logs, and other documents.
