Job Description

Overview

The Welder position is a full-time role on the 1st shift, requiring expertise in GTAW welding and a commitment to safety and quality in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience and be proficient in reading blueprints and using standard welding tools.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare materials for welding by cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal.
  • Read weld blueprints and engineered drawings to follow work order requirements.
  • Set up the welding machine for specific materials, thicknesses, and positions.
  • Use complicated weld fixtures and weld positioners.
  • Dimensionally inspect welds and parts using calipers, protractors, and gauges.
  • Inspect all parts for proper assembly and cosmetic defects.
  • Work outside the department as required.
  • Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and wear all Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • Certification in GTAW; AWS D17.1; PWA 16 in any group material.
  • 3-5 years of welding experience required.
  • Ability to pass welding certification tests for current materials.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and operation sheets.
  • Capable of using standard bench tools and gauges for setup and inspection.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
