Overview

Join Epiroc as a Tester Helper, where you will perform final testing, assembly, and repair functions on drilling rigs while adhering to safety guidelines. This role ensures that the rigs are fully tested and defect-free before advancing to the next production stage.

Responsibilities

  • Receive assembled drilling rig from the shop floor.
  • Check assembly for overall appearance.
  • Work from blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work orders to complete remaining assembly or modification duties.
  • Perform all tests as per released test procedure including functional tests.
  • Check and adjust all structures and operating systems including chassis, compressor, engine, electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Check all options such as night lights, water injection, technology and other systems.
  • Set and adjust all pressure (PSI) and engine speed (RPM) ratings to conformance.
  • Maintain the test and equipment area free from oil spills and other contaminants.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the test area and perform 5S activities.
  • Direct labor as required for the performance of test processes and troubleshooting.
  • Detect and report defective materials, faulty operation, and unusual conditions to immediate Supervisor.
  • Follow prescribed safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Coordinate with the Quality Department for the completion of all required audits and address any audit findings.
  • Train Assembler Tester Helpers to become future Assembler Testers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of safe working practices in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to use and comprehend specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components/systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of troubleshooting (hydraulic and electrical).
  • Basic computer skills including MS Office and ERP Systems.
  • Experience with hand and power tools, test equipment, and gauges.
  • Knowledge of rig components and systems including 'RCS'.
  • Knowledge of safe rig operation.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing preferred.

Additional Information

  • Onsite work environment.
  • Training schedule of Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, transitioning to a regular Friday–Sunday shift from 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM with a 10-hour shift premium.
  • Work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions.
  • May involve climbing up to 4-6 feet and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Primarily an outdoor working environment with exposure to extreme weather.
