Overview

MN8 Energy is one of the largest independent solar energy and energy storage owner-operators in the U.S., serving enterprise customers with clean energy solutions. The Solar Technician III is the most experienced field position responsible for performing electrical and mechanical services while providing leadership and training to other field positions.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate integrity, initiative, work ethic, and commitment to safety and quality.
• Complete all safety training as required by the company.
• Review and understand all safety policies and procedures before work begins.
• Attend and participate in weekly safety meetings.
• Oversee, provide direction, and train Solar Technician 1 and Solar Technician 2.
• Ensure all required Personal Protective Equipment is received, inspected, and utilized.
• Perform Preventive and Corrective Maintenance on solar, energy storage, and EV charging installations.
• Troubleshoot solar, energy storage, and EV charging installations efficiently.
• Complete all assigned tasks safely, correctly, and in the allotted time.
• Ensure all provided vehicles, tools, equipment, and parts are accounted for and well maintained.
• Accurately complete all required documentation, checklists, timecards, and photography.
• Complete all other duties assigned by the direct supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background and motor vehicle record check.
• Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Basic computer operation skills and familiarity with internet-based program navigation.
• Proven experience understanding and implementing OSHA regulations.
• Ability to read, interpret, and understand basic design drawings and schematics.
• Intermediate to advanced electrical theory knowledge.
• Knowledge of and ability to perform and interpret IV Curve tracing.

Additional Information

• Ability to drive up to 6 hours per day to reach project locations.
• Travel up to 50% of the time outside of the service area.
• Work outside in the environment up to 90% of the time.
• Work in a fast-changing environment requiring quick decisions.
