Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic position at Ferrara involves conducting repairs and preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment during the 2nd Shift. The role requires flexibility in working hours and the ability to address mechanical and electrical system issues to ensure continuous operation.

Responsibilities

• Disassembles, inspects, reassembles, troubleshoots, repairs and replaces malfunctioning parts or equipment using test equipment.
• Cleans, lubricates and adjusts various components of packaging equipment to improve efficiency.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance procedures as per schedule.
• Installs change parts on production machinery for different sizes or shapes.
• Reads blueprints, diagrams, and manuals to diagnose problems and learn equipment operation.
• Installs new equipment.
• Actively seeks to find and correct problems in the assignment area.
• Communicates equipment conditions through maintenance records and shift change transfers.
• Works closely with Production personnel.
• Improves work-related skills through schooling or plant programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
• Promotes teamwork and exhibits flexibility in performing tasks.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Completed Maintenance Certification.
• Ability to problem solve by adjusting variables in standardized situations.
