Overview

The Quality Control Inspector at ACCO is responsible for ensuring the quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products through inspection and oversight of subcontractor installation and quality. ACCO Engineered Systems is a leading mechanical contractor specializing in HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and building automation systems since 1934.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and conducts analysis, inspection, design, test, and integration to assure quality.
  • Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance.
  • Reviews purchased products and provides input on vendor quality.
  • Documents data obtained during quality assurance activities.
  • Communicates significant issues and recommends process improvements.
  • Prepares reports to communicate quality assurance activities.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry quality standards.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in Quality Control with a minimum of 3 years focused on ASME B31 piping codes.
  • Experience in industrial and commercial construction, fabrication, welding, and non-destructive testing.
  • Current certification as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and/or ICC Mechanical – Commercial Certification preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures such as proportions and percentages.
  • Ability to solve practical problems in varied situations.
  • Regular and routine attendance.

Additional Information

  • This is a non-exempt position from Monday through Friday, with one-hour break for lunch and two rest breaks.
  • Travel based on business needs to regional branch offices and job sites.
