Job Description

Overview

The Assembler will work on the assigned production line in Mesquite, TX, following standard operating procedures to measure, cut, and assemble door units while assisting with various manual labor tasks. This position requires immediate supervision and involves working in different stock areas.

Responsibilities

  • Verify materials being used is correct by reading the bill of materials
  • Ensure materials meet quality expectations
  • Palletize, wrap, and label units as needed
  • Assemble fabricated parts to relatively large or heavy subassemblies and complete units
  • Test and calibrate parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications
  • Follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions
  • Verify that components are placed in the correct position per SOP
  • Repeat tasks until the entire door stack is complete
  • Clean up work area when shift ends
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Preferably one to two years of experience in a manufacturing setting
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of all door components
  • Efficient with multiple manual machines and pneumatic equipment
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions such as bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling
  • Ability to organize and maintain detailed records
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and multitask
  • Ability to read and understand the bill of materials
  • Must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions
  • Must be able to read a tape measure and have basic math skills
