Overview

Brightview Senior Living is hiring a Traveling Skilled Craftsman to support the completion of interior finishes across multiple communities in South New Jersey and Pennsylvania. This role focuses on preparing apartments for move-in, maintaining high-quality finishes, and performing renovations as part of the capital improvement plan.

Responsibilities

  • Review and complete assigned work orders and project assignments.
  • Confirm all work is approved prior to execution.
  • Complete approved, non-structural alterations in accordance with established standards.
  • Deliver high-quality work while meeting budget, timeframe and brand expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with community teams and Home Office leadership.
  • Construct and repair frameworks and finishes including walls, ceilings, and fixtures.
  • Perform finish carpentry repairs and replacements as needed.
  • Assess painting needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Prepare surfaces by washing, patching, sanding, and priming.
  • Mix, match, and apply paint, stain, and finishes per specifications.
  • Maintain painting equipment, inventory, and work areas.
  • Install, maintain, and repair basic electrical systems.
  • Test equipment and systems to ensure proper operation.
  • Install and repair piping for waste, drainage, and venting systems.
  • Repair and replace plumbing fixtures such as sinks and toilets.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of related carpentry, painting, or construction experience.
  • Commercial or multi-site maintenance experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle capable of transporting tools.
  • Ability and willingness to travel between communities, including occasional overnight travel.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and basic computer applications.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and material calculations.
  • Problem-solving and repair-focused mindset.
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used in building construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work assignments.
