Overview

The DWM Plant Maintenance Mechanic II position involves performing preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment in the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of plants. This experienced level role requires skills in plumbing, welding, and machinery maintenance, ensuring operational efficiency and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains machinery and mechanical equipment according to specifications using hand tools and power tools.
  • Repairs and troubleshoots equipment, observing mechanical devices to locate causes of trouble.
  • Conducts performance tests of plant equipment using various measuring instruments.
  • Diagnoses and repairs malfunctioning plant equipment, including pumps and motors.
  • Participates in the installation and modification of wastewater treatment plant equipment.
  • Performs pipefitting and repairs air, sewer, and hydraulic piping systems.
  • Maintains detailed records of operations and activities, including safety records.
  • Ensures adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
  • Interprets drawings, blueprints, and schematics for wastewater systems.
  • Operates heavy equipment as necessary.
  • Initiates purchase orders for parts and equipment.
