Overview

As a Maintenance Technician for the Publix Bakery Plant, you will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve the performance of various equipment in a facility that produces award-winning bakery products. The role is crucial for ensuring the plant can meet production demands and maintain product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve mechanical processes of equipment/facilities.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance of process equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Create requisitions for parts and supplies.
  • Build steel, stainless steel, and aluminum fabrications for process improvement.
  • Weld using stick, TIG, sanitary TIG, and MIG methods.
  • Troubleshoot PLC and computer-controlled devices.
  • Perform minor plumbing, building repair, and maintenance.
  • Read and interpret schematics and drawings.
  • Operate forklift and high lift.
  • Perform housekeeping duties in the work area.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old.
  • Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and tool use.
  • Willingness and ability to advance.
  • Willingness to complete a mechanical aptitude test.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated individual.
  • Ability to lift in excess of 50lbs.
  • Ability to work well with others and be a team member.
  • Ability to demonstrate safe work habits.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible and willing to work various shifts.
  • Willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

What you'll be running

It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
