Overview

The Military Aircraft Group seeks an A&T Technician II for 2nd shift in Torrance, CA, to work on advanced flight control actuation systems for military aircraft.

Responsibilities

  • Perform precision assembly on complex production and repair actuators.
  • Adjust or align components through shimming and other mechanical adjustments as specified.
  • Utilize mechanical measuring equipment to ensure proper assembly-build requirements.
  • Maintain dimensional accuracy using torque wrenches, fixtures, tooling, and other measuring devices.
  • Perform various test operations on mechanical or hydraulic actuators using necessary test equipment.
  • Diagnose common test failures and recommend or perform rework to correct discrepancies.
  • Hold problem units for engineering disposition.
  • Ensure units are tested in conformance with current revision letters and report any abnormal conditions.
  • Test repair models for conformance to acceptance test procedures.
  • Utilize measuring equipment to validate acceptance of models to current test requirements.
  • Order parts as necessary and document parts replaced and work performed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of assembly experience in mechanical, hydraulic, electromechanical, or electronic fields.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification is a plus.
  • Must meet FAA's drug and alcohol testing program requirements.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Assembly experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience performing precision assembly and testing of flight actuators.
  • Experience with precision measuring equipment such as dial indicators, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical components and test failures.
  • Basic computer skills in Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Possess or be able to obtain Security Clearance.

  • Onsite work schedule in Torrance, CA.
  • 2nd shift hours are from 2:00pm to 10:30pm.
  • Generous shift differential of +10% on top of base pay for 2nd shift.
