Overview

Join Houdijk North America as a Field Service Engineer and enjoy a mix of hands-on work and adventure across North America. You will ensure Houdijk installations run perfectly for customers throughout the region while working independently after a thorough onboarding period.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and support equipment operation at customer sites.
  • Perform repairs, maintenance, and restoration of technical equipment and installations.
  • Conduct remote analysis of machine faults and prepare for repairs.
  • Assemble, install, align, and test equipment and production modules.
  • Install supply connections, including electrical wiring.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults across hardware, software, mechanical, and tooling domains.
  • Consult with clients regarding on-site challenges and quality requirements.
  • Interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and documentation.
  • Gather and prepare necessary materials (tools, parts, software, manuals).
  • Prepare installation components for transport and oversee shipment.
  • Submit detailed reports with findings, recommendations, and photos.
  • Report hours and costs per project.
  • Travel 70% - 80% within North America; some international travel for training.

Requirements

  • A degree in engineering or similar discipline, or an equivalent level gained through work experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in the fields of electrical engineering and mechanical construction.
  • Experience with dynamic drive systems and modern (PLC) control technologies.
  • Willingness to travel regularly, sometimes on short notice, for extended periods (1 to 3 weeks).
  • Ability to communicate and report clearly both orally and in writing in English.
