Overview

Elevate your career at Marotta Controls, a New Jersey Top Workplace three years running! This position is primarily responsible for the set-up/operation of various types of machine shop equipment to produce complex tools, fixtures, and diversified products in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate various types of machine shop equipment including manual and CNC Engine Lathes, Bridgeports, and Grinders.
  • Produce complex tools, fixtures, and diversified products to meet operational requirements.
  • Conduct documentation review, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, equipment set-up/operation, and component inspection.
  • Interact effectively with a broad spectrum of people within the organization.
  • Bring initiatives and activities to closure in a timely manner.
  • Abide by all safety, quality, housekeeping, and company policies/procedures.
  • Contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment.
  • Participate in team meetings and improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in the training of personnel as directed.
  • Keep management informed of area activities and significant problems.
  • Ensure that the work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
  • Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related experience involving set-up/operation of precision machine shop equipment.
  • High School/GED Diploma or Vocational/Technical school equivalent.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to analyze, organize, plan, multi-task, and achieve results.
  • Possess math skills to read and interpret documents such as blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to set up and operate machine shop equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing concepts and inspection methods.
  • Must demonstrate creative thinking related to machine shop and inspection.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

  • 4-Day Work Week – Monday-Thursday (6:00AM-4:30PM)
  • Location: Montville, NJ corporate offices
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required.
