Overview

DIS-TRAN Steel, located in Pineville, LA, is seeking experienced PREP Welders for the Day Shift. The company values its people and emphasizes a culture of respect and integrity while producing quality steel structures.

Responsibilities

  • Operates safety equipment and uses safe work habits.
  • Positions, aligns, and welds parts to form complete structures, following blueprints and layout specifications.
  • Recognizes, sets up, and operates hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
  • Examines steel or workpieces to ensure specifications are met.
  • Moves parts safely into position using hoists or cranes.
  • Welds components in flat positions using manual welding equipment.
  • Cleans welds with grinders and other equipment.
  • Examines work pieces for defects and measures with weld gauges.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints required.
  • Ability to read a tape measure required.
  • Welding certification or prior welding experience preferred; GMAW experience preferred.
  • Certifications or prior experience using moving machinery, such as cranes, preferred.
  • Must pass a site weld test.
