Overview

The Welder 1C - Repair Seasonal Seat position is responsible for advanced welding, fabrication, and repair work on industrial equipment and machinery used in sugarcane milling operations. The role requires precision and the ability to apply various welding techniques in a fast-paced environment, while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricates, assembles, and repairs metal structures and machinery parts.
  • Completes project work by performing tasks such as flame cutting, bending, forming, beveling, and notching of metal.
  • Works from prints, drawings, and verbal instructions.
  • Applies various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Cored.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
  • Inspects welded components for quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Operates welding and cutting equipment, hand tools, and machinery safely.
  • Maintains welding tools and shop equipment in safe working condition.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Works collaboratively with team members and supervisors.
  • Ensures correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Follows organizational safety guidelines and reports hazards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and four years of welding, fabrication, or related experience.
  • American Welding Society welding certification.
  • Thorough knowledge of welding methods, materials, and shop practices.
  • Skill in SMAW, GMAW, GTAW welding, and oxyacetylene cutting.
  • Ability to read manuals, blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Ability to follow instructions from supervisors.

What you'll be running
