Overview

The Welder position at Huncilman involves welding a variety of metal and steel structures based on oral directions, sketches, or drawings. The ideal candidate will ensure quality in their work and contribute to customer satisfaction while adhering to safety policies.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricates and welds a wide variety of metal and steel structures.
  • Reads fabrication drawings, work orders, and completes standard records.
  • Accurately and effectively loads shipments for delivery.
  • Completes all reports and forms for service operations in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensures manager is aware of any issues which can impact customer satisfaction or billing.
  • Maintains good condition and cleanliness of company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensures all company values are adhered to and promoted through leading by example.
  • Participates in all requested job-related training and development.
  • Follows all company and common sense safety policies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Certified Welders preferred, but not required.
  • Welding experience (Arc, Tig, Mig) required.
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used in service shops.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds as required without assistance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professionalism in the workplace.
  • Strong organizational skills.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. It lays down metal fast and is forgiving on clean material, which is why it dominates production and light fabrication work. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
