Overview

The Welder position involves welding metal components together and fabricating or repairing products based on layouts, blueprints, or work orders. The role requires setting up welding machines and reading drawings to determine specific welding requirements, particularly focusing on TIG welding of stainless steel.

Responsibilities

  • Reads and interprets blueprints and specifications, calculates dimensions, and prepares materials.
  • Checks the quality of metal parts before assembling for welding, cutting, or cleaning.
  • Conducts thorough inspections of welded products for defects.
  • Repairs defective products by dismantling, reshaping, and fusing them.
  • Meets production deadlines and notifies supervisors of deviations.
  • Maintains equipment through preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Ensures a clean and safe working environment by following safety procedures.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Accepts ownership for accomplishing new requests and explores opportunities to add value.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Welding experience is required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Welding Certification preferred.
  • Experience with controls and instrumentation, quality control, tooling, and safety management.
