Overview

At Johnson Matthey, as a Mechanical Technician, you'll contribute to a world leader in platinum group metals, addressing global challenges through advanced metals chemistry while ensuring safe and reliable operations.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot and repair mechanical production equipment.
  • Plan and complete maintenance activities while minimizing disruption to production.
  • Install, assemble, lubricate and adjust equipment for efficient performance.
  • Interpret drawings and technical sketches for materials, tools and repair methods.
  • Carry out minor fabrication, welding, pipework and equipment modification activities.
  • Maintain operating records and support the upkeep of plant utilities and facility equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma; mechanical trade school certification is desirable.
  • Experience inspecting, maintaining and repairing industrial mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans and maintenance documentation.
  • Working knowledge of welding, fabrication, piping and general maintenance practices.
  • Experience operating machine tools and maintenance-related equipment safely.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, aerial scissor lifts and boom lifts.
