Overview

Rivian is seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician for vehicle repairs, requiring a collaborative individual who can work in a dynamic environment. This position may involve remote operations and travel to various locations, and it is designed to recruit candidates across various seniority levels.

Responsibilities

• Perform or assist with vehicle diagnosis, repairs, installations, and inspections at service centers or in the field.
• Identify and explain the Rivian product line, EV framework, tools, and accessories.
• Utilize technical resources to follow Rivian repair procedures efficiently.
• Conduct road tests to ensure the quality of repairs.
• Manage parts operations, including ordering, receiving, shipping, and inventory.
• Identify areas of improvement and provide feedback to senior technicians or leadership.
• Support service campaigns and containment initiatives.
• Document all work and technical notes for internal and external use.
• Work collaboratively with a team and maintain high-quality work with minimal supervision.
• Communicate professionally in customer-facing situations.
• Stay current with technical skills and complete required training.
• Interact regularly with customers, families, 3rd party affiliates, and suppliers.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or recognized high school equivalency credential preferred.
• Proficient in using hand tools and power tools.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
• Ability to drive a non-commercial truck and trailer is preferred.
• Must be available for a 40-hour work week, including weekends and holidays.
• Proficient with laptops or computers in Windows or Mac environments.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read and speak fluent English.
• Hands-on work experience in an automotive shop is highly preferred.
• A background in electric vehicle (EV) or hybrid repair is considered a plus.
• Experience in start-up environments is preferred.
• Experience with parts departments, billing, and work order management systems is preferred.

Additional Information

• The shift is Monday through Friday with rotational Saturdays from 5pm to 2am.
• There is a 15% pay differential for hours worked between 6pm and 6am.
