The Maintenance Mechanic position involves maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment and systems, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Respond to telephoned service requests and project work orders daily.
• Identify work complexity, necessary tools, and required spare parts.
• Prepare purchase requisitions for spare parts and materials.
• Complete repairs in a timely manner and document them in the CMMS system.
• Maintain critical spare parts inventory and requisition replacements.
• Rekey locks and repair automatic and manual doors.
• Assess preventative maintenance work requests and schedule repairs.
• Conduct preventative maintenance as specified and report deficiencies.
• Follow up on repair efforts to ensure compliance with codes.
• Conduct monthly tours of assigned work zone to note required repairs.
• Inspect fire and smoke walls to ensure compliance with codes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Coordinator.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years experience in general mechanical maintenance and repairs.
• Basic knowledge in Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, and medical air systems.
• Good mechanical repair skills and light electrical skills.
• Experience in troubleshooting and repair of pumps, motors, and pneumatic systems.
• Knowledge in light carpentry and sheetrock work.
• Ability to use power tools, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints.
• Basic understanding of NFPA and Life Safety Codes.
• Computer literate.

• Full-time position with day shift.
