Overview

The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing various electronic and electrical systems and equipment, collaborating with engineers on design improvements, and working on prototype automated equipment. The role requires a high level of technical skill and problem-solving ability due to the complexity of the systems involved.

Responsibilities

  • Independently plan work assignments and perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Train and direct plant trades Helpers, Junior Trades Workers, and Trades Workers.
  • Collaborate with functional personnel to resolve problems and recommend solutions.
  • Qualified to the Emergency Response Technician Level as specified in federal regulations.
  • Pass required physical as specified in federal and state regulations.
  • Wear protective equipment and properly store all personal protective equipment.

Requirements

  • Two years of an accredited Trades School with certification or equivalent practical experience.
  • Two years of work experience in the trade.
  • Completion of an accredited trades training course or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work any shift or work schedule.
  • Knowledge of machine control interface and ability to troubleshoot machine problems.
  • Strong reading and writing skills in English.
  • Ability to understand and read one-line diagrams and electrical schematics.
  • Time management skills.
  • Strong computer skills for looking up machine parts and schematics.
