Overview

Base is America’s next-generation power company focused on transforming the electricity grid through a network of distributed batteries. The Global Supply Manager will oversee sourcing for sheet metal and extrusion components critical to Base's structural metalwork.

Responsibilities

  • Own the commercial relationship with sheet metal and extrusion suppliers.
  • Take over day-to-day ownership of aesthetic panels, top cover, straps, and aluminum extrusion heat plates.
  • Build and maintain should-cost models for stamped, formed, and extruded parts.
  • Negotiate piece price, tooling terms, and master agreements with suppliers.
  • Establish dual-source or bridge-supply coverage for high-risk parts.
  • Partner with engineering and manufacturing on design trade-offs and production issues.

Requirements

  • Background sourcing stamped, formed, or extruded metal components.
  • Experience owning a commercial relationship with a contract manufacturer or metal fabricator.
  • Comfort qualifying a bridge or backup supplier quickly.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, roughly 25% of the time.
